About LifeAsCodeKids & LifeAsCodeTeens
One family of tools. Age-appropriate worlds.
For Kids 5–12: LifeAsCodeKids
LifeAsCodeKids is a gentle learning island where children explore
feelings, body safety, and friendship skills with characters who
look and live like they do — including kids with disabilities,
kids whose brains work differently, and kids from many cultures
and families.
Kids meet Rae of Sunshine (their constant guide) and trusted adult guides in game-like
journeys such as Feelings Island, Calm Cove, Friendship Forest,
and Brave Mountain. Each short mission teaches one clear idea,
then lets your child practice what to say or do.
Body safety = knowing which parts are private,
who may help, and how to ask for help if something feels wrong.
Phone boundaries (age 5-12) = “Your phone/tablet is private, except when a trusted adult needs to help keep you safe. No one your age should ask for secret pictures or passwords.”
For Teens 13–17: LifeAsCodeTeens
LifeAsCodeTeens builds on the same values, but speaks “teen” —
using older helpers, real-world scenarios, and more direct
language about pressure, online life, early dating, and saying
yes or no with respect.
Parents choose which tracks unlock, and every lesson stays
focused on safety, respect, and emotional skills — not on graphic
detail or sexual behavior. Teens learn that phones, photos, passwords,
and location are theirs to protect.
Phone boundaries (age 13-17) = “You don’t owe anyone access to your phone, photos, or accounts. Pressure to share passwords, screenshots, or location is a boundary violation. Parents may check devices for safety — and should explain why.”
Important: LifeAsCodeKids & Teens is an
educational and wellness tool that supports families in talking about
safety. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent medical or
psychiatric conditions. Parents and caregivers may set device rules to keep kids safe. This app teaches kids how to speak up — not how to hide.
Meet the Trusted Adults
Rae + 6 Expert Guides (Not Replacements for Parents)
Every child has Rae of Sunshine as their constant companion on every island. She is the secure base — the familiar face who introduces other adults, holds the values, and reminds kids they can pause, ask questions, or talk to their grown-up.
In addition to Rae, your child will meet 6 trusted adult guides — each appears only for specific topics and uses pre-written, reviewed language. Parents control which guides are enabled. No guide ever asks for secrets, photos, or private contact.
Why multiple adults? Different topics need different expertise. One adult for everything creates dependency. Rotating experts with one constant guide (Rae) creates trust without replacement of parents.

What We Do (and What We Don’t)
Honest, age-appropriate safety education — with guardrails.
What LifeAsCodeKids/Teens does
Helps kids and teens learn words for their feelings and bodies.
Teaches body safety and boundaries in a non-graphic way.
Teaches digital boundaries: phones, photos, passwords, location, and online pressure.
Provides practice scripts for saying “no,” “stop,” and “I need help.”
Supports kids with disabilities, chronic illness, autism, ADHD, and LGBTQ+ identities.
Gives parents dashboards, summaries, and conversation starters.
Uses Rae + trusted adult guides (parent-controlled) to teach different topics.
How we handle phone & digital boundaries
In 2026, a phone is an extension of a child’s body — it holds their photos,
voice, location, and access to others. We teach that:
Phones/devices are private, but parents can set safety rules.
No one should pressure kids to share passwords, secret photos, or location.
If something on-screen feels unsafe or weird, tell a trusted adult.
Parental monitoring is for safety, not punishment — and should be explained.
What LifeAsCodeKids/Teens is not
❌ Not therapy, counseling, or medical treatment.
❌ Not an emergency or crisis service.
❌ Not a dating app, chat app, or social media platform.
❌ Not graphic sex education.
❌ Not a tool to teach kids to hide from parents.
❌ Not a promise that abuse or harm will be prevented.
Important disclaimer: LifeAsCodeKids/Teens is an
educational tool. It is designed to support, not replace,
parents, guardians, teachers, doctors, or therapists. If you
believe a child is in immediate danger, contact emergency
services or a crisis line right away.
For Parents & Caregivers
You carry the weight. We hold the flashlights.
Why families use LifeAsCodeKids/Teens
You want your child to be kind, confident, and safe — especially
if they live with extra risks: disability, past trauma, adoption,
bullying, racism, or questions about gender and identity. You
also know that “one big talk” is not enough.
We help you turn hard topics into short, repeatable practice
moments. Your child does missions with Rae and the trusted adult guides; you
get clear summaries, questions to ask, and simple ways to check
in without scaring them.
Why Rae is on every island
Rae is not just another adult. She is the secure attachment anchor —
the familiar face who introduces other adults, holds the values, and reminds kids
they can pause, ask questions, or talk to their grown-up. When everything else changes
(topic, adult, seriousness), Rae staying present tells their body: “This is still safe.”
Design principle: One constant relationship + rotating expertise = trust without dependency. Rae is everywhere because she’s the seatbelt, not the star.
Parent control over trusted adults
During setup, you choose which trusted adult guides are enabled for your child.
You can disable any guide at any time. Rae is always present as the constant guide.
See which islands and missions your child has completed.
View “What we practiced today” in plain language.
Lock or unlock topics and trusted adults.
Access printable guides and safety plans.
Why phone boundaries matter in 2026
A phone is no longer just a device. Teaching boundaries without including phones
would be like teaching bike safety without mentioning cars. We teach kids to
recognize pressure to share passwords, location, or private photos — and parents
can explain why monitoring is about safety, not control.
Safety, Privacy & Data Practices
Your child’s safety and privacy are core features, not add-ons.
Safety by design
No public profiles, follower counts, or “likes.”
No open chat, DMs, or stranger messaging.
No ads and no sale of personal data.
All content is pre-written. Kids cannot upload stories for others to see.
Parent account required to create any child profile.
Trusted adults use pre-written scripts only — no free chat.
Data we collect
Parent email and password (to manage account).
Child nickname, age range, pronouns, avatar.
Lesson progress and skills practiced.
We do NOT collect full legal names, exact birthdates, precise location, photos, videos, or voice recordings.
System Status & Resolution Protocols
If a child indicates discomfort or fear during activities, our system uses simple status levels:
🟢 Green: Learning mode (default)
🟡 Yellow: Discomfort/confusion → Jordan guides breathing, grounding, suggests talking to trusted adult
Parent responsibility: This app may help your child find words for difficult experiences. You are responsible for listening, believing them, and deciding what steps to take next. We do not investigate or report abuse on your behalf.
